The Second IEA CCC Workshop on advanced-ultrasupercritical coal-fired power plants was held in Rome, Italy, 14-15 October 2014 in association with Centro Sviluppo Materiali (CSM). The workshop covered the development work ongoing in China, Europe, Japan and the USA where there are plans to design and build demonstration plants over the coming years. Many of the major players in the development of A-USC power plants attended the workshop with presentations from:

The workshop included a tour of the extensive facilities at CSM. CSM is prominent among European top materials R&D centres, cooperating with Italian and international industries, universities and research agencies and playing a recognised role as a national and international reference-point for innovation on materials.
